This is fun!

Google docs

I created my Google doc and sent it on.

I can see that this would be very useful for working on work things from home. No problems with access, don't have to carry anything around - just need a computer and Internet access.

Mashup part 2

Well, here it goes. This is my second attempt, as for the first one I pressed the wrong thing and lost it all.

I'm amazed at what can be done at such short time frame.

Mashups

OK, I'm a bit confused. This is what happens to me when I do something over a long period of time. I have actually read this week, but not done anything, or blogged about it. I think maybe I'm stalling - I'm having so much fun, I don't want to finish this course.

Just so happens we have a family visitor from overseas - I can't wait to go home and make some mashup presents for her...

Now I need to think about the discover exercise, I''l leave it for later, as I have a meeting to go to now.

Podcasts

Podcasts are amazing! I cannot believe that I haven't discovered them till now. Maybe it's to do with the name - sounds a bit, I don't know now that I think about it spacey should be what I associate it with - but I associated it with eggs and seeds for some reason.

Anyway, I thought why not have a SLNSW Family History podcasts, but after some research realised that there are some of these out there already. So maybe Mitchell history, or aspects of collection specific to us - hey what about the collectors chest podcast - maybe it's already there.

In the meantime I will go and learn French in my coffee break...

'Slamming the boards'

Must say - I think it sounds a bit like wrestling. Although I'm not saying that what these Librarians are doing is a bad thing, I don't know if I think that it should be part of work. I think most questions on the boards are asking for opinions. I'd like to believe that if someone has a reference inquiry, they would seek help from a librarian.

However I am amazed at the number of health related questions - hope these people go to doctors as well as seeking public opinion.

I have had some thought about our
'Ask a Librarian' service on the website. Perhaps rather then having forms to fill out it should be in an answerboard format. I think it might apeal to more people.
